Our verdict
Fomo is one of the simplest memecoin trading platforms I have used. It combines token discovery, multichain trading and a public feed showing what other traders are buying and selling. You can fund one account with USDC and trade tokens across six supported networks without manually bridging funds.
I opened a Fomo account from the UK, deposited $150 in USDC on Ethereum and completed 11 trades during my first day. My total trading volume was approximately $320 at the time of this review. I traded 4Stock and Hound, and I also tried to trade Ludo shortly after it graduated from its launchpad. Ludo’s liquidity was pulled before I could sell, which was an immediate reminder of how quickly a new memecoin can become worthless.
Fomo did what it was supposed to do during my initial test. Registration was quick, my USDC deposit arrived correctly and the platform displayed its 0.50% fee before every trade. The web interface also makes discovering and trading small tokens much easier than moving between a wallet, blockchain explorer, charting platform and decentralised exchange.
That convenience does not make the tokens safe. Fomo is an interface for accessing third-party protocols and liquidity. It cannot stop a token creator from removing liquidity, dumping holdings or abandoning a project.
My early verdict is positive, but provisional. I have not yet tested a withdrawal, and I want to trade through different market conditions before giving Fomo a final long-term score.
Review status: This review is based on a real account funded with $150 in USDC. At the time of writing, I had completed 11 trades with around $320 in total volume. I will update the page as I continue trading and after testing a withdrawal.
Affiliate disclosure: SecretsToTrading101 receives 25% of the Fomo trading fees paid by users who register through links on this page. Users who register through our link also receive a 10% reduction in Fomo trading fees, reducing the standard rate from 0.50% to 0.45%. We funded the test account ourselves, received no payment for this review and were not given a special offer. This commercial relationship does not affect our ratings or the risks covered below. Fomo can change its referral terms, so check the fee shown before confirming a trade.
Cryptoassets and memecoins are high-risk. Prices can fall to zero, liquidity can disappear and transactions may be irreversible. This review is for information only and is not financial advice.

What is Fomo?
Fomo is a social crypto trading platform operated by FOMO Labs Inc. It lets users discover and trade memecoins, altcoins and selected major assets while following the activity of other traders.
The experience feels closer to a social network combined with a DEX aggregator than a traditional crypto exchange. Token pages display price charts, holders, recent trades, project links and posts from other users. The feed shows public buys and sells, while leaderboards rank traders using performance data.
Fomo’s terms of service make an important distinction: Fomo itself is not a decentralised exchange, exchange or broker. Trades take place through third-party networks, smart contracts, DEXs and other infrastructure. Fomo provides the account, wallet interface, routing and social layer around those transactions.
That is why we have included Fomo in our decentralised exchange section while classifying it more precisely as a non-custodial trading interface.
Fomo launched in 2025. The company announced a $2 million pre-seed round in February 2025, followed by a $17 million Series A led by Benchmark in November 2025. In June 2026, it announced a $75 million Series B led by Index Ventures, with participation from Union Square Ventures and Benchmark. Funding is evidence that established investors have backed the business. It is not insurance for customer funds and does not reduce the risk of trading memecoins.
How Fomo has changed since launch
Fomo began as a mobile-first Solana memecoin app. It added Base support in September 2025, BNB Chain in October and Monad in November. The web platform launched in April 2026, which matters for UK users like me who cannot currently download the iOS app from the UK App Store.
By June 2026, Fomo had expanded into perpetual futures through third-party protocols. Its current platform supports six chains and covers more than memecoins. This rapid expansion makes older reviews unreliable in places. For example, some still describe Fomo as Solana-only, list outdated token-verification thresholds or say card funding is unavailable everywhere.
This review uses the product and documentation available on 8 September 2026. Fomo changes quickly, so the date of each test matters.
How I tested Fomo
I created an account through the Fomo website from the UK. I used the web platform because the mobile app was not available in my regional App Store.
I then sent $150 in USDC from an external wallet using the Ethereum ERC-20 network. The deposit reached my Fomo balance, and I used it to trade 4Stock and Hound. By the time I recorded my initial findings, I had completed 11 transactions with approximately $320 in combined trading volume.
Every trade confirmation I checked displayed a 0.50% Fomo fee. I did not receive a promotional credit, a test balance or payment from Fomo.
My testing is continuing. I plan to use the account for a documented memecoin trading series on social media, which will let me assess execution, token discovery, fees and account performance over a longer period. I have not tested a withdrawal yet. That is a deliberate limitation of this first version of the review, and the page will be updated when that test is complete.
Depositing USDC into Fomo
My crypto deposit was simple, but network selection requires care. I sent USDC using Ethereum, sometimes described as ERC-20 USDC. Fomo also supports crypto deposits on Solana, Base, BNB Chain and Monad. Robinhood Chain deposits use USDG, which Fomo says is converted into the account’s Solana USDC cash balance.
Always check both the asset and network before sending. USDC exists on several blockchains, and selecting the wrong network or unsupported token can make recovery difficult or impossible.
Fomo also advertises debit card and Apple Pay funding. These options may depend on your location and the current version of the platform. I did not use either method, so I cannot assess their charges or reliability from personal experience.
My deposit result
| Test detail | Result |
|---|---|
| Amount sent | $150 USDC |
| Network | Ethereum |
| Token standard | ERC-20 |
| Deposit method | Crypto transfer through the Fomo website |
| Credited successfully | Yes |
| Card or Apple Pay tested | No |
Trading memecoins on Fomo
Fomo removes much of the friction that normally comes with on-chain trading. Once USDC is in the account, the same cash balance can be used to buy tokens on any supported chain. I did not have to move funds through a bridge, keep separate gas tokens in multiple wallets or connect to a different DEX for every network.
The trade ticket shows the amount, estimated token quantity and applicable fees before confirmation. My orders were easy to place through the web interface, and the 0.50% platform fee was visible each time.
The main benefit is speed. You can move from seeing a token in the feed to checking its chart and placing a trade from the same interface. That is useful in a fast market, but it also shortens the pause in which you might normally question whether a trade makes sense.
Before buying, I would still check:
- Available liquidity
- Market capitalisation and trading volume
- Holder concentration
- Whether liquidity is locked
- Token contract warnings
- The creator’s wallet and earlier launches
- Project website and social accounts
- Slippage and expected price impact
Fomo makes some of this information easier to find, but it does not replace independent token research.
Fomo trading fees explained
Fomo charges a fee when you buy and when you sell. Its official trading-fee guide lists a standard charge of 0.50% per trade on Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Monad and Robinhood Chain, plus applicable network fees.
That matches my testing. All 11 trades displayed a 0.50% Fomo fee.
At approximately $320 in recorded trading volume, the headline platform charge is:
$320 × 0.50% = $1.60
This calculation covers Fomo’s percentage fee only. It does not include network charges, token-level taxes, liquidity-pool fees, price impact or slippage.
A complete buy and sell costs around 1.00% in Fomo fees before those additional costs and before the price moves:
Position size Buy fee at 0.50% Sell fee at 0.50% Fomo round-trip fees
$25 $0.125 $0.125 $0.25
$100 $0.50 $0.50 $1.00
$500 $2.50 $2.50 $5.00
$1,000 $5.00 $5.00 $10.00
The real sell value may differ from the opening position size, so the actual exit fee is calculated from the amount sold.
Solana fees
Fomo uses a separate tiered structure for Solana trades:
Solana order size Fomo fee
Under $5 $0.10 flat fee
$5 to $47.50 2%
$47.50 to $190 $0.95 flat fee
$190 or more 0.50%
Fomo covers Solana gas, priority fees and token rent rather than charging them separately. Even so, the percentage cost of a small order can be high. A $10 Solana trade costs $0.20 under the current 2% tier. A $50 order costs $0.95, equal to 1.9% of the order.
Fomo says selected major tokens have a reduced 0.05% rate. Orders below $1,000 on these assets can instead attract a flat minimum charge of up to $0.50. Always use the fee shown on the final quote because Fomo’s terms allow charges to vary by token, order size and route.
Referral discount
Users who create an account through our Fomo referral link receive a 10% reduction in trading fees. On a trade that would normally cost 0.50%, this lowers the charge to 0.45%.
This is separate from the commission paid to SecretsToTrading101. We receive 25% of the Fomo fees generated by users referred through our link. The discount does not add a separate charge to your trade. Referral terms can change, so check the fee displayed before confirming a transaction.
What happened with Ludo?
One of my first-day trades involved Ludo, a token that had just graduated from its launchpad. Its liquidity was then pulled, leaving me unable to sell.
This does not prove that Fomo took the funds or caused the loss. It shows the underlying risk of permissionless memecoin markets. A token being available through a trading interface does not mean its team is trustworthy, its liquidity will remain available or a sell order will always execute.
Fomo labels some tokens as verified, unverified or subject to warnings. Its current token-verification policy says a token must have at least $1 million in daily volume, a $5 million market cap, 1,000 unique holders and unique metadata before it is eligible for review. Fomo also states that verification does not guarantee safety, liquidity, future availability or price performance.
Newly launched and just-graduated coins will often fall outside those thresholds. That is where risk is highest.
Fomo’s social trading tools
The social layer is what separates Fomo from a standard swap interface.
Live trading feed
The feed displays activity from traders you follow as well as other prominent accounts. You can see buys, sells, comments and updates to a position’s profit or loss. This is more useful than an anonymous list of transactions because each trade connects to a user profile and trading history.
It can also create a strong recency bias. A profitable screenshot or leaderboard position does not tell you the trader’s full risk, how much liquidity was available at entry or whether followers can achieve the same execution price.
Trader profiles and leaderboards
Profiles show trading activity and performance metrics. Leaderboards make it easier to find active accounts, but I would not select a trader from headline profit alone. Compare realised and unrealised performance, account size, trading frequency and whether one exceptional token explains most of the return.
Fomo’s terms say it may change how leaderboard metrics are calculated and can recalculate or reset rankings. Treat rankings as platform data, not an audited investment record.
Following is not automated copy trading
Fomo lets you follow traders and receive alerts about their activity. You still decide whether to place your own trade. It should not be described as conventional automated copy trading unless the platform adds a feature that replicates orders without manual confirmation.
That distinction matters. By the time you see another trader’s entry and submit your own order, a low-liquidity token may have moved substantially.
Supported blockchains
Fomo’s current supported-chains guide lists six networks:
- Solana
- Base
- BNB Chain
- Monad
- Ethereum
- Robinhood Chain
USDC is used for deposits and withdrawals on the first five. Robinhood Chain uses USDG. Fomo presents these assets through one cash balance and handles cross-chain routing behind the interface.
This abstraction is convenient, especially for someone who does not want to hold separate gas tokens or manage bridges. The trade-off is that you rely on Fomo’s interface, Privy’s wallet infrastructure and whichever third-party protocols route and settle the transaction.
Is Fomo non-custodial?
Fomo describes its wallet as non-custodial. The wallet is generated and managed using Privy, a third-party wallet infrastructure provider. According to Fomo’s terms, users can view and export their private keys.
This differs from leaving assets in a conventional centralised exchange account. Exportable keys give you a route to control the wallet outside the Fomo interface.
It is still not the same experience as creating a standalone hardware or software wallet and securing the recovery phrase yourself from the beginning. Your account security also depends on protecting the email account, Apple ID or other credentials used to access and recover the wallet.
Fomo expressly states that users are responsible for safeguarding their account credentials, private keys and recovery information. If these are compromised, normal bank or broker chargeback protections do not apply.
Is the Fomo app legit or a scam?
I found no evidence that the official Fomo platform is an outright scam. There is a named US company behind it, public founders, a functioning product, established venture-capital investors and active listings on major app stores. My deposit and trades worked during this initial test.
That answer needs context. Fomo is not registered or licensed as a broker or exchange, and it does not offer the protections you would expect from an FCA-regulated investment firm. Fomo’s terms say the company acts as a conduit to third-party infrastructure and does not process the underlying transactions itself.
There are three different risks to separate:
- Platform risk: Fomo, Privy, a connected protocol or the web interface could suffer an outage, exploit or operational failure.
- Wallet risk: Access credentials or exported private keys could be lost or compromised.
- Token risk: A memecoin creator can dump holdings, exploit a contract, impose sell restrictions or remove liquidity.
The Ludo trade in my test falls into the third category. The token became unsellable after liquidity was pulled. That is a token-level failure, although the ease with which high-risk assets can be traded remains part of the overall user experience.
Only use the official fomo.family domain and links reached from it. Crypto platforms frequently attract copycat sites and impersonation accounts.
Is Fomo regulated in the UK?
Fomo states in its terms that it is not registered with or licensed by any regulatory authority. I found no basis to describe it as FCA regulated.
UK users should not expect Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection for direct cryptoasset losses. The FCA’s crypto risk summary warns that buyers should be prepared to lose all the money they invest and may be unable to sell when they want. Financial Ombudsman coverage also depends on the activity and firm involved, so users should not assume it applies to a Fomo trade.
The web platform was accessible during my UK test, but the iOS app was not available through my UK App Store. Availability can change, so check the official website rather than downloading an application from an unofficial source.
Account security and token warnings
Fomo provides token labels, warnings and a verification process. These are helpful filters, but they are not guarantees.
A safer setup includes:
- Using a dedicated email address protected by strong two-factor authentication
- Storing exported private keys offline and never sharing them
- Checking the complete domain before signing in
- Starting with a small transfer
- Verifying the receiving network before every withdrawal
- Avoiding links posted by unknown users in Discord or social feeds
- Keeping long-term holdings in a separate wallet
- Treating unverified and newly launched tokens as capable of falling to zero
No combination of warnings and account security can remove the market and liquidity risk of memecoins.
Customer support
I did not find a standard live-chat support service during my test. Fomo provides:
- An online help centre
- Email support at support@fomo.family
- An official Discord community
I joined the Discord, but I have not yet submitted and timed a support request. Until that is tested, I cannot make a fair claim about response quality.
The help centre is more detailed than several competitor reviews suggest. It includes articles on deposits, withdrawals, trading fees, supported chains, wallet security, token verification and troubleshooting. However, documentation is not a replacement for responsive individual support when money is missing or a transaction fails.
Withdrawing from Fomo
Fomo’s withdrawal documentation says users can withdraw USDC to an external wallet or centralised exchange. US bank withdrawals are also documented, but they are not relevant to my UK account.
For crypto withdrawals, you select the amount, receiving network and destination address. The asset and network must match the destination. Ethereum USDC should be sent to an address that accepts Ethereum USDC, for example.
I have not completed this test yet because I am using the account for an ongoing public trading series. I will update this section with:
- The amount requested
- Selected network
- Fee displayed
- Time submitted
- Time received
- Transaction hash
- Any security or verification steps
- Any contact with support
Until that is done, this review should not claim that I have independently verified the withdrawal process.
Fomo compared with a traditional DEX
| Feature | Fomo | Traditional DEX interface |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet setup | Embedded Privy wallet linked to account credentials | User normally connects an existing wallet |
| Chains | Six supported networks from one balance | Often one ecosystem or manual network switching |
| Bridging | Handled behind the interface | Often requires a separate bridge or aggregator |
| Social feed | Yes | Usually no |
| Trader leaderboards | Yes | Usually no |
| Platform fee | Standard 0.50% on most trades, plus stated exceptions | Varies by protocol and liquidity pool |
| Private key | Exportable | Controlled through the connected wallet |
| Token access | Memecoins, altcoins and selected major assets | Depends on pools and supported networks |
| Regulation | Not a regulated broker or exchange | Usually a protocol or interface rather than a regulated broker |
Fomo is easier for discovery and cross-chain execution. A direct DEX can offer more wallet choice, routing control and potentially lower fees for an experienced user.
Fomo alternatives
Fomo is not automatically the best choice for every on-chain trader. The right alternative depends on whether you care most about social discovery, wallet control, Solana execution or advanced trading data.
Platform Better suited to Main difference from Fomo
Fomo Social discovery and simple trading across several chains One cash balance, public trader activity and a familiar account-based interface
Jupiter Solana traders who want deeper execution controls Aggregates Solana liquidity and supports spot swaps, limit orders, recurring orders and configurable execution modes
Phantom Users who want a general-purpose multichain wallet and broader access to decentralised apps Wallet-first product with cross-chain swapping and direct dApp access, but without Fomo’s trading-focused social feed
Axiom Active memecoin traders who want more detailed analytics and wallet tracking More terminal-like interface with advanced monitoring tools; less approachable for a first-time user
Jupiter is the stronger option if you trade mainly on Solana and want more control over order type, slippage and routing. Phantom makes more sense if you need a wallet for holding assets and connecting to other decentralised applications. Axiom is aimed more at traders who want detailed token and wallet-monitoring tools.
Fomo’s advantage is the combination of social data and multichain simplicity. Its drawback is that the standard 0.50% per-side fee can be more expensive than trading directly, and the streamlined interface offers less control than a specialist terminal.
I have not run matched live orders across these alternatives, so this comparison is based on their current documented features rather than a controlled execution or price test.
UK tax records for Fomo trades
Frequent memecoin trades can create a large record-keeping burden. HMRC says selling crypto, exchanging one token for another and using crypto to pay for something can each count as a disposal for Capital Gains Tax purposes. Transaction fees may form part of the allowable-cost calculation.
Download or retain your Fomo transaction history, wallet addresses, transaction hashes, GBP values at the time of each disposal and associated fees. The social nature of the app does not change the tax treatment. See HMRC’s cryptoasset disposal guidance or speak to a qualified tax adviser about your circumstances.
Who should consider Fomo?
Fomo may suit you if you:
- Actively trade memecoins rather than hold only established cryptocurrencies
- Want to follow on-chain traders and see their public activity
- Trade across several chains and dislike manual bridging
- Prefer a familiar account-based interface to connecting multiple wallets
- Understand that token availability does not mean token safety
It is a poor fit if you:
- Need an FCA-regulated provider
- Expect deposit insurance or chargeback protection
- Want limit orders and professional execution controls for every market
- Are likely to buy because a trader appears on a leaderboard
- Cannot afford to lose the full amount deposited
- Want to store long-term investments on a frequently used trading wallet
My verdict on Fomo
Fomo solves a real usability problem. It makes cross-chain memecoin trading feel like using one application rather than assembling a wallet, bridge, DEX, charting tool and social feed yourself. The web platform worked well enough for me to deposit $150 in USDC and complete 11 trades with around $320 in volume during my initial test.
The pricing was also clear. Each transaction showed a 0.50% platform fee before I confirmed it. Clear does not mean cheap. Active traders pay on both sides, and a standard round trip starts at roughly 1.00% before network fees, token taxes, slippage and price impact.
The biggest limitation is the underlying market. My inability to sell Ludo after its liquidity was pulled shows why Fomo’s simple interface must not be confused with a safety guarantee. Social discovery can help you find trades, but it can also push you towards thinly traded tokens after other users have already entered.
I am giving Fomo a provisional score of 4.1 out of 5. The product is easy to use, the multichain balance is useful and its social data gives it a clear identity. I am holding back a final rating until I test a withdrawal, contact support and gather more evidence across a larger sample of trades.
Provisional rating breakdown
| Review category | Score | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Account setup and funding | 4.5/5 | Fast registration and successful USDC deposit, but UK mobile availability is limited |
| Trading experience | 4.2/5 | Simple execution and strong cross-chain usability |
| Social and research tools | 4.5/5 | Useful feed, profiles and leaderboards, with a risk of performance chasing |
| Fees and value | 3.6/5 | Transparent in my test, but 0.50% per side adds up and small Solana orders can cost more |
| Safety and transparency | 3.8/5 | Non-custodial wallet and clear documentation, but no regulatory protection and high token risk |
| Overall | 4.1/5 | Promising result from a limited initial test; withdrawal still pending |
Do not deposit money solely because of this review or our affiliate relationship. Check the live fee quote, research every token and assume that a memecoin position can lose its full value.
Frequently asked questions
Is Fomo a decentralised exchange?
No. Fomo’s terms state that it is not a DEX, exchange or broker. It is a non-custodial trading interface that connects users to transactions executed through third-party blockchain networks, DEXs, smart contracts and protocols.
Is the Fomo app legit?
The official Fomo platform is operated by FOMO Labs Inc. and has a functioning web and mobile product backed by named investors. My $150 USDC deposit and initial trades worked. Fomo is not a regulated broker, and using a legitimate interface does not make the memecoins traded through it safe.
How much does Fomo charge?
Fomo normally charges 0.50% per trade on Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Monad and Robinhood Chain, plus network costs. Solana uses tiered pricing based on order size. Selected major tokens may qualify for a 0.05% fee, subject to minimum charges. Use the final quote as the applicable price.
Does Fomo charge when you sell?
Yes. Fomo charges for buys and sells. At the standard 0.50% rate, entering and exiting a position costs approximately 1.00% in Fomo fees before network costs, slippage, price impact and any token-level tax.
Can UK traders use Fomo?
I accessed Fomo’s web platform from the UK and funded it with USDC. The mobile app was not available in my UK App Store during testing. Fomo is not FCA regulated, and features or regional access may change.
Is Fomo non-custodial?
Fomo describes its embedded Privy wallet as non-custodial and allows users to export their private keys. Users remain responsible for protecting their account credentials and keys.
Can you lose money on Fomo?
Yes. You can lose the full value of a memecoin position through price falls, liquidity removal, contract flaws, scams or an inability to sell. I encountered this during testing when liquidity was pulled from Ludo before I could exit.
Does Fomo prevent rug pulls?
No platform can guarantee that every permissionless token will remain liquid or retain value. Fomo applies labels, warnings and a verification process, but it states that verification does not guarantee safety, price performance or liquidity.
Does Fomo offer copy trading?
Fomo provides social feeds, profiles, leaderboards and alerts that help users follow other traders. This is not the same as conventional automated copy trading. You remain responsible for choosing and confirming your own trades.
Which networks does Fomo support?
Fomo supports Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain. The platform uses a unified cash balance and manages routing across these networks behind the interface.
Can you withdraw from Fomo?
Fomo documents USDC withdrawals to external wallets and centralised exchanges on supported networks. I have not yet completed an independent withdrawal test, so this review does not claim that my own withdrawal has been verified.
